Programs
SCIL has a number of programs that are available to provide services and assistance to the community.
- TAP - Transition to Adulthood Program: For students aged 14-22 and enrolled in special education, regardless of the type of disability, who desire to learn independent living and self-advocacy skills.
- Independent Living: For any individual with a significant physical, mental, cognitive or sensory impairment for whom the IL services will improve their ability to function, continue functioning or move towards functioning in the family or community.
- TICL - Transition Into the Community Living Program: For any individual with a significant physical, mental, cognitive or sensory impairment living in an institution who desires to live back in the community and for whom the IL services will improve their ability to function, continue functioning or move towards functioning in the family or community.
- Mass Assistive Technology Loan Program: provides low interest loans for purchase of assistive technology and home modifications. A financial assessment is required.
- Computer Classes: are offered for for persons with a disability. Classes meet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the morning or afternoon for two hours 10-2 or 2-4). Tuesday classes are introduction to Computers, Wednesday classes are Keyboarding and Data Entry, and Thursday classes are Introduction to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access. Internet Training and Resume Development are also offered, by appointment only. Call SCIL for start dates and more information at 508 679-9210.
- Art Program: We are providing classes that enable persons with disability to develop their artistic interests, produce original works, and participate in the planning, development and promotion of exhibitions of their works.
- Internship Program: We provide opportunities for students from area colleges and universities to serve at SCIL to complement their studies in human services, sociology, education, and other fields relevant to our mission.
- Volunteer Program: We provide opportunities for persons to assist us in our work, and we are pleased to encourage our volunteers to develop skills that they can utilize to enhance their resumes or broaden their community engagement.

- Community Service: In addition to services for individuals, SCIL provides various services to the community such as:
